When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information. Our authentication provider handles your password; we do not have access to your plain-text password.

You may also add a name and profile photo. If you join through an invite link, we store the invite code to create a pending friend request after you confirm your email.

Postcards may contain photos, drawings, text, and the place where they were created.

Location access is required to publish postcards, send postcards to friends, or discover nearby postcards. If you do not allow location access, these features will not be available.

Published postcards can be discovered by other users on the map and Nearby feed. Sent postcards are delivered to the friend you choose. Drafts remain in your account until you delete or send them.

To show a postcard’s journey, we may store its starting place and destination information. We do not share your live location with other users as a live-tracking feature.

Please avoid including private information or sensitive locations in postcards you choose to publish.

When you publish a postcard on the map, it becomes visible to other users. We may also feature publicly published postcards in FROM HERE’s own brand and product promotions, such as on our website, social media accounts, promotional materials, or app store pages.

We aim to present featured postcards in context and not imply that a user endorses FROM HERE or a third-party product. We may display the postcard’s content, associated place, and public profile information where relevant.

If we want to use a postcard in paid advertising, materially alter it, or identify you in a way beyond its ordinary public display, we will seek additional permission where required by law or appropriate to the use.

You retain ownership of your postcards. You can remove a published postcard from the map, but this may not immediately remove promotional materials already published, copies shared by others, or content retained in backups. Where reasonably practicable, we will stop using a removed postcard in future promotional materials.

We store friend requests, accepted friend connections, likes, favorites, and notifications associated with your account.

Likes on public postcards may contribute to counts visible to other users. Your favorites are private to you.

We count page views to understand how our website is used. This measurement does not use cookies and is not linked to your FROM HERE account.

The website does not run ads, and we do not sell personal information.

We use service providers to operate features such as authentication, hosting, maps, email, and website analytics. These providers may process information on our behalf to provide their services.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with the law, protect the Service and its users, or address security issues.

You can request account deletion from within the app while signed in. Deletion starts a 30-day recovery period. During this period, your published postcards are removed from the map and your account is removed from other users’ friend lists. Signing in again during this period may restore your account.

After 30 days, we permanently delete your account and friend connections, subject to information we must retain for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes and temporary technical backups.

Postcards already delivered to another person may remain in their inbox after your account is deleted. Promotional materials already published may also remain until they can reasonably be removed.

You can choose what to publish, send, or keep as a draft. You can remove published postcards and request account deletion through the app.

FROM HERE aims to be welcoming to people of different ages. The handling of children’s personal information is subject to applicable law. If additional consent or safeguards are required in your location, we will follow those requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. We will update the date above and provide notice where required by law.
