TERMS OF USE
Terms
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Welcome to FROM HERE.
FROM HERE is a place to turn moments and places into postcards you can keep, share, and discover. These Terms of Use explain the rules for using our app and website at https://fromhere.space (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
FROM HERE lets you create digital postcards inspired by places, save them for later, send them to friends, and publish them on a map for others to discover.
Some features use your device’s location. A postcard’s journey on the map is part of the digital experience. It does not represent real-time movement, and the Service does not promise physical printing or postal delivery unless we explicitly offer that feature.
We may add, change, or remove features as the Service develops.
2. Your Account
You may need an account to use certain features. You may provide an email address, password, and optional profile information such as your name or photo.
FROM HERE is designed to be welcoming to people of different ages. You must be legally permitted to use the Service in your location. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law. Additional age restrictions or parental consent requirements may apply to certain features or locations.
We may restrict access where necessary to comply with applicable law.
Please provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us at support@fromhere.space.
3. Children and Age Requirements
FROM HERE is designed to be welcoming to people of different ages. You may use the Service only if you are legally permitted to do so under the laws that apply to you. If you are a minor, you must obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
We may introduce additional age restrictions or parental consent requirements where necessary to comply with applicable law.
4. Postcards You Make
Your postcards belong to you. You retain your rights to the content you create, subject to any rights held by others in materials you use.
To operate the Service, you grant FROM HERE a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, display, and transmit your postcards as reasonably necessary to provide the features you choose, maintain the Service, and protect its security.
How a postcard is shared depends on your settings:
- Private or saved postcards: These are kept for your use and are not made public by default.
- Postcards sent to a friend: These are delivered to the intended recipient through the Service.
- Postcards published on the map: These may be visible to other users through the Nearby feed or world map, according to the feature’s design.
If you publish anonymously, your displayed name will be hidden from other users where the anonymous publishing feature applies. Your postcard may still be associated with your account internally to operate the Service.
Use of Public Postcards in Promotions
When you publish a postcard on the map, you grant FROM HERE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and share that postcard for operating, promoting, and marketing FROM HERE, including on our website, social media accounts, app store pages, and promotional materials.
You retain ownership of your postcard. This license does not transfer ownership to us, and we will not imply that you personally endorse FROM HERE or any third-party product.
You can remove your postcard from the map at any time. After removal, we will stop using it in new promotional materials within a reasonable time where practicable. Materials already published may remain until they can reasonably be removed.
We will seek additional permission where required by law or appropriate for uses such as paid advertising that identifies you personally.
You can remove a published postcard from the map. Removal may not immediately erase copies already delivered to recipients, technical backups, or records that we must retain for security, legal, or operational reasons.
The permission described above lasts only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes stated in these Terms, subject to any retention required for backups, security, legal obligations, or the resolution of disputes.
You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and permissions needed for the content you upload or share.
5. Location
Some features require access to your device’s location, including publishing a postcard to a place, sending a location-based postcard, or discovering nearby postcards.
We do not share your live location with other users as a live tracking feature. However, the place associated with a postcard you share may be visible to others, including on the map.
Please think carefully before associating a postcard with your home, workplace, or another private location.
Our collection and use of location information is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. What to Leave Out
Please do not use FROM HERE to:
- Break the law or encourage others to do so.
- Harass, threaten, deceive, or impersonate others.
- Share another person’s private or confidential information without permission.
- Upload content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Share unlawful, exploitative, hateful, or otherwise seriously harmful content.
- Send spam, run scams, distribute malware, or interfere with the Service.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization.
We may review content or account activity when reasonably necessary to operate the Service, address suspected misuse, protect users, or comply with the law.
We may remove content, restrict access to features, suspend accounts, or close accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the Service and its users, or comply with applicable law.
If you have a concern about content or account activity, you can contact us at support@fromhere.space. The Service does not currently provide in-app reporting or blocking features.
Our Community Guidelines describe the standards we expect everyone to follow, including what content and behavior are not allowed on the Service.
7. Friends and Interactions
You may invite friends using an invitation link. Certain features may require email confirmation. Friend requests can be accepted or declined.
We may limit invitations or other activity to protect the Service from spam or abuse.
Other users may interact with public postcards through available features, such as likes. Like counts may be visible to other users.
Your saved postcards are private by default unless you choose to share or publish them through the Service.
Please respect other users’ privacy and choices when sending postcards or inviting them to connect.
8. Feedback
You may send us feedback and, optionally, attach up to three screenshots. Providing an email address is optional unless we need it to respond to a specific request.
Please do not include passwords, payment details, or unnecessary sensitive personal information in feedback or screenshots.
We may use your feedback to understand user needs and improve FROM HERE. You retain ownership of the feedback you provide, but you allow us to use it for these purposes without compensation.
Feedback and any personal information included with it will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, logos, and other materials provided by FROM HERE, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except where the law permits or we give you permission, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit these materials.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of your postcards or other content to FROM HERE.
10. Third-Party Services
Some features may rely on third-party services, such as mapping, authentication, email, or hosting providers. Those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the independent operation of third-party services, and their availability may affect how parts of FROM HERE work.
11. Closing Your Account
You can request account deletion from within the Service while signed in. If you cannot access your account, contact support@fromhere.space for assistance. Sending an email alone does not automatically close your account.
Deletion starts a 30-day recovery period. During this period, your account and associated data are retained, your published postcards are removed from the map, and your account is removed from other users’ friend lists. Signing in again during this period may cancel the deletion request and restore your account.
After 30 days, we permanently delete your account and associated data, including your friend connections, except for information we are legally required to retain.
Postcards already delivered to other users remain in their inboxes after your account is deleted. These postcards are retained for the recipients’ use and are no longer part of your deleted account.
Removing a postcard from the map or deleting your account does not necessarily remove copies that recipients have already received or promotional materials already published. Where reasonably practicable, we will stop using removed postcards in new promotional materials.
12. Availability and Changes to the Service
We work to keep FROM HERE available, but we cannot guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may update, suspend, or discontinue part or all of the Service. Where required by law, we will provide notice or take other appropriate steps.
13. Disclaimers and Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that it will meet every expectation or that content, maps, or other information will always be accurate or available.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, FROM HERE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. This does not exclude liability where exclusion is prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be limited for fraud, intentional misconduct, or other non-excludable matters.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or applicable requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date when we publish a new version and provide additional notice where required by law.
Where legally permitted, continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and may close your account.
15. Applicable Law and Disputes
We aim to resolve any concerns or disputes fairly and informally whenever possible. If you have a concern about the Service, please contact us at support@fromhere.space so we can try to help.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights or protections you may have under applicable law. These Terms do not exclude or restrict any legal remedies available to you under the laws that apply to your use of the Service.
